Linkedin Offering, Are you missing out?

Today I want to ask you a simple question?
Are you missing out on utilizing LinkedIn’s capabilities for your business?

These additional questions will tell us more:

  • Do you generate leads or opportunities from LinkedIn for your business?
  • Have you generated any joint ventures from LinkedIn?
  • Have you secured a job or employment from using LinkedIn?
  • Have you received advice to your tough business questions on Linkedin?
  • Have you secured top talent for your company using Linkedin?
  • Have you gained appointments through LinkedIn?

If you did not answer yes to at least one of these questions you may be missing out on LinkedIn’s offering.

I will not be able to cover all of LinkedIn’s offering in this article, but I will share a snapshot to each question I asked.

  • Generating leads and opportunities can be done through various avenues on Linkedin. One way is through asking qualifying question through your status updates with links to your site or blog.
  • Joint Ventures can be created through participating in groups with people of similar interest and taking the discussion past the group with a personal message or phone call.
  • Securing employment can be achieved through your connections- connections via introductions, participating on groups, or status updates to name a few.
  • Expert advice is no longer a major task to secure. Using Linkedin’s Questions application you can get highly educated answers from the worlds experts in over 270 industries.
  • Top talent is no longer so tough to find with LinkedIn. You can view profiles, comb resumes, and reach out to thousands of candidates.
  • Securing appointments is truly an amazing way to use Linkedin whether you use the status updates, introduction forwards, or meeting prospects in group’s. After an initial dialogue the logical next step can be asking for a face to face.

These are just some of the ways to benefit from Linkedin’s offering. Who Else Wants To Generate Quality Leads on Linkedin™?

linkedin1 150x150 Who Else Wants To Generate Quality Leads on Linkedin™?Today Linkedin has 50+ million business professionals engaging each other daily for both B2C and B2B interaction. The ultimate goal usually is to generate leads for our respective businesses. While some of the other reasons maybe to seek out expert advice, joint ventures, and new opportunities. One thing that continues to amaze me is how much time many professionals spend on Linkedin and never outline a specific plan to generate leads.

Why would any business professional set aside time for Linkedin without a plan on how to generate leads, new opportunities or at least know the “why” behind what they are doing? If you happen to be a seasoned sales professional like me, you know that you cannot go very long doing something that is not going to generate positive results to the bottom line. Otherwise it ends up affecting the pocket book negatively.

Here are five tips to make sure you are making the most of your time on Linkedin to generate quality leads:

1. Identify your target market and where they are on Linkedin and spend your time “only” their. (Examples are which groups are they a part of? Which Q & A sections will they be participating in?..)
2. Engage people Monday through Thursday, most people are checked out Friday through Sunday. This means do not waste your time on the weekends, these are business professionals who use Linkedin during the week.
3. Write a compelling headline of what you do on your profile since this is the first thing people see when you participate in discussions and Q & A.
4. Schedule a set amount of time everyday to Linkedin, otherwise you may get lost in the social space spending countless hours on unproductive things.
5. Bring value to the groups you belong to and watch people seek after you as an industry expert.
